How Crew Wars work

Two formats, one clock, rules everybody agrees to first. Here is everything, in the order it happens.

The two formats

Regular War Org

2v2 or 3v3

The small-roster format. Needs only 2 or 3 fighters per crew. Ranked on the Org ladder.

Pub War

4v4 · 5v5 · 6v6

The big-roster format. Needs 4, 5 or 6 fighters per crew. Ranked on the Pub ladder.

Each format has its own Glory, so a crew can be great at one and brand new at the other.

From challenge to result

  1. 1

    Pick a crew

Open Challenge. Every crew is numbered with its Org and Pub rank. You must be the captain or an officer of your own crew.

  2. 2

Choose the war and the mode

Regular War (2v2 or 3v3) or Pub War (4v4, 5v5 or 6v6). Both crews need at least that many members.

  3. 3

    Read the rules and agree

The challenged crew's captain wrote the rules for each format. You read them and tick the box. A war can't be declared without agreeing, and the rules you agreed to are saved with the war.

  4. 4

    The three-day clock starts

The challenged crew's captain and officers are notified on the site and in Discord. You both have 3 days to fight.

  5. 5

    Report the result

After the fight, either crew reports who won (and optionally a score and a proof link). The other crew confirms it or disputes it.

  6. 6

    Glory moves

Once both agree the war is settled, and both crews' Glory changes. Disagreements go to the moderators.

The clock and the limits

  • 3 days to fight. If nobody reports a result in that time, the crew that was challenged forfeits. The challenger wins, for half the usual Glory so nobody can farm wins from inactive crews.
  • 48 hours to answer a result. If a crew reports a result and the other crew doesn't answer in 48 hours, the result is accepted. A reported war never forfeits at the deadline.
  • 7-day cooldown. After you challenge a crew you can't challenge that same crew again for 7 days.
  • 2 wars at a time. A crew can be in at most 2 unfinished wars, whether it challenged or was challenged. A crew also can't be in two wars against the same opponent.
  • Captains and officers declare wars and report results. Members follow along and fight.
  • Disputes. If the two crews report different winners, or one disputes a result, a moderator reads the evidence and decides. Moderators can also void a war so it counts for nobody.
  • Disbanding. If a crew disbands, its unfinished wars are cancelled and nobody forfeits.

Glory

  • Every crew starts at 1000 Glory in each format and appears on a ladder after its first settled war.
  • A result moves about 20 points from the loser to the winner. Beating a higher-rated crew pays more (up to 35), beating a lower-rated crew pays less (down to 5).
  • A forfeit moves half as much. Glory never drops below 100.
  • The ladders are rebuilt from every settled war, in order. If a moderator overturns an old result, the ladder updates itself.

War rules (for captains)

  • Every crew has two sets of war rules: one for Regular Wars and one for Pub Wars. They're written when the crew is created and edited any time in Crew HQ under War rules.
  • Each set can be up to 10,000 characters (around 1,500 words), enough for a full rulebook. The minimum to get started is one word.
  • A crew without rules for a format can't be challenged to it. Existing crews keep everything they have; their captains just add rules.
  • Editing rules never changes a war that already started. Challengers always fight under the rules they agreed to.
